Founded in 1978, SunCrest Construction Inc. has continually and successfully designed and built numerous residential projects for the greater Northwest. Projects have ranged from small starter homes to unique estate homes in excess of a million dollars and include some of the finest view and waterfront homes in Pierce and Thurston Counties. SunCrest Construction Inc. prides itself on its innovation in design, attention to detail and quality of workmanship from planning to final stages of each and every project.

In the past 15 years SunCrest Construction has built a number of projects:

  • The Water’s Edge Condominiums (21 units) on the old Ice Arena property on Lake Steilacoom in Lakewood.
  • 23 gracious homes in the Ridgeview subdivision in Lacey.
  • 15 homes in the Wildflower subdivision in Spanaway.
  • 72 homes in the Village at Rivergrove in Sumner.
  • 12 homes in the Mountain View subdivision in Sumner.
  • Assorted custom homes and homes on in-fill sites.

The Village at Rivergrove was the first subdivision that the company developed from raw land to finished product. When conceived in early 2000, it was an innovative subdivision utilizing small lots of approximately 4000 SF with rear car access from a driving alley to create affordable and non auto-centric housing with a small village atmosphere. Front porches and inviting entries create a friendly atmosphere where neighbors visit and children play. The subdivision opened in 2000 with prices of $170-195,000 and was sold out in 2004.

Today, SunCrest is again innovating with the development of energy-efficient Energy Star homes certified by independent testers to be more than 50% more efficient than the typical home built in the United States! This provides the home buyer of today with a home that will increase in value over the years as energy prices become ever higher and the savings today will pay for as much as 10% of the mortgage. A licensed architect in the state of Washington, D. S. Phillips provides the design expertise for the unique homes of SunCrest Construction. In-house design allows detailed planning for efficient and livable homes and cost-effective construction for a higher value product for the homebuyer of today.
